Red de Miramar

from $24.00

12oz, 2lb or 5 lb bag

Introduced to us through the Good Coffee Program outreach in Oaxaca, this is one of many informal associations, typically comprised of 2, 10 families sprinkled around the Miramar de Yucuhiti trading post in the highlands of Oaxaca’s Mixteca Region.

This particular working group is led by charismatic and dependable Cecilio Pérez Vásquez. His neighbors include the region’s most dedicated specialty producers: Blanca Flor García Santiago, Ángel Castro García, Andrea García Feria, Julián García Santiago, Leonides Castro García, Hipólito Castro García, and Juan Pérez López. This group has adopted a cooperative approach to promote specialty coffee as their way to take control over the economic destiny of their community. Under Cecilio’s active leadership, the group hopes to grow up to 10 tons of parchment coffee annually (~ 200 bags at export) — not only from their farm, but also by actively supporting and representing other producers.

Producer: Angel Castro Garcia
Region: Mixteca, Oaxaca, Mexico
Altitude: 4,900 ft
Varietals: Bourbon, Caturra, Typica
Process: Washed
Tasting Notes: Chocolate, Citrus, Honey

All coffees will be shipped within 3 days of being roasted. We roast coffees on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and we ship the same day or the following day.
